About US

At Holyoke FBC we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed! That is why we decided to partner with Children’s HopeChest Uganda. Our Carepoint is located in Wera, Uganda. Wera is located in the Eastern part of Uganda in the Amuria District, Wera Sub-County, and it is 252 miles from the capital, Kampala. Most households are sustained by their crops and animal husbandry.  The community lives in extreme poverty and many children have lost their parents due to AIDS, malaria, and dehydration. Years of conflict between the government and the Lord’s Resistance Army have left many displaced communities, orphaned children, and vast insecurity. As a a result, a household is only able to afford one meal a day and their income is less than $1.25 per day. The Holyoke FBC is maintaining a sponsorship level of 60 children. A sponsorship helps provide a child with nutritional, medical, and educational support. Children are also provided with discipleship and mentorship. Our Carepoint helps the community become self-sustaining by implementing programs such as, tailoring and agricultural training etc. We ask that you support our Carepoint and Ministry in prayer and that you continue to support our children.
